The original of this piece, NYC Contrasts, currently showing in Regents' Park Tube with Art Below, will be shown at The Other Art Fair, Stand 155, PV tonight, public opening 6 October, until Sunday 8 October.
While in Jackson Heights NYC, I was struck by the energy of the diverse cultures journeying together, pulsating with shared goals and dreams, yet possibly coming from such divergent paths. This piece is my questioning of what I saw. Layers of drawings done live on my iPad converge with layers of dollar bills and Lady Liberty in the background. What drives where people live, what they do, who they hang with? What choices might they have, or not? And how is this changing in the current socio-political environment?
